Paperboard Added to Centre
County’s Recycling Program
Beginning
January 2, 2009, the Centre County Solid Waste
Authority added paperboard to its recycling program.
Paperboard
items that may be recycled include but are not
limited to: cereal boxes, shoe boxes, gift
boxes, clean food boxes (such as Nutri-Grain
boxes, spaghetti boxes, cracker boxes, etc),
paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls and tablet
backs.It is very
important to note that paperboard products
should not be placed with
corrugated cardboard.
Curbside residents are
asked to recycle paperboard along with their
mixed paper. Please place
the paperboard products and mixed paper in a
plastic bag next to your curbside recycling
bin.Residents who bring their
recyclables to county drop-off bins should place
the paperboard in the compartment labeled “Mixed
Paper/Junk Mail”. Please do not
place the paperboard in with the corrugated
cardboard.
Commercial customers
should place paperboard in the blue toter
labeled “Mixed Paper.” Do not place
plastic bags in the blue toters.
The Solid Waste Authority
is pleased to provide this service to its
residents.
Make sure to follow the proper procedures
when recycling.
